QKC Founding Team
QuarkChain (QKC) was founded by Dr. Qi Zhou, a seasoned engineer and researcher with extensive experience in both academia and the tech industry. Dr. Zhou obtained his PhD in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he specialized in large-scale distributed systems. His career before QuarkChain included roles at major companies such as Google and Facebook, where he focused on operating systems and scalable infrastructure.
His expertise in distributed systems provided the foundational framework for QuarkChain, which focuses on creating a scalable, high-throughput blockchain solution. Dr. Zhou identified major bottlenecks in the scalability of blockchains, which led him to develop the multi-layered architecture that forms the core of QuarkChain. Consequently, Dr. Zhou’s technical background is integral to the project, particularly its approach to addressing scalability through shard chains.
Another critical figure in the QuarkChain project is Dr. Yan Kaichun. Dr. Yan has a PhD in Physics from the National University of Singapore, and he brings a wealth of analytical and problem-solving skills to the table. His past work in scientific computation lends itself well to the technical challenges blockchain networks face, helping the team refine their approach to consensus algorithms and network security.
Additional senior personnel includes Zhiwei Liang, who works as the Chief Marketing Officer for QuarkChain. Liang’s history includes roles in product management and Blockchain-related business development. His role is instrumental in expanding QuarkChain’s reach within the blockchain and crypto communities. Though his tech acumen isn’t as thoroughly documented, Liang's work bridges the gap between technology and the consumer base, a necessary role in the complex world of blockchain adoption.
The founding team is complemented by a variety of advisors from academic and industry backgrounds. These individuals offer guidance on particular areas such as blockchain consensus mechanisms, cryptography, and token economics. However, the focus tends to remain on the project's technical leadership, which is primarily driven by Dr. Zhou’s background in distributed systems and scaling solutions.
