Gilbert Verdian – Founder and CEO
Gilbert Verdian is the key figure behind Quant and its development. He envisioned the project while working in technology-related roles in healthcare, having noticed a need for enhanced security and interoperability in patient data management. This central idea eventually grew into the development of a blockchain-based interoperability solution.
Prior to founding Quant in 2017, Verdian worked in several high-profile roles in both the private and public sectors. He held senior executive roles for Mastercard and HSBC, and also worked with the Australian Government, where he contributed to various technological and cybersecurity initiatives. Verdian’s diverse background in technology strategy and security has had a significant influence on Quant’s development, particularly its focus on enterprise-grade blockchain solutions.
Paolo Tasca – Economic Advisor
Paolo Tasca serves as a key advisor to the Quant team and is an expert on blockchain economics. With years of experience working as an economist for large institutions like Deutsche Bank and the European Central Bank, Tasca brings a deep understanding of macroeconomic systems and blockchain’s broader implications. He is also well-known for being heavily involved in academia, particularly through his work as the Executive Director of the University College London’s Centre for Blockchain Technologies. His input helps Quant refine the macro-level economic aspects of its platform, ensuring it meets enterprise and institutional demands.
Colin Paterson – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Colin Paterson is the technical lead for Quant. Paterson has a strong background in cybersecurity and enterprise technology, having previously worked for the UK government as a principal architect in secure information solutions. His experience encompasses over 20 years in building highly secure enterprise systems for critical national infrastructure, which aligns with Quant's focus on creating a secure and resilient platform. His expertise ensures Quant continues to remain robust and scalable as the project grows.
Together, the Quant founding team combines decades of experience in their respective fields, allowing the project to leverage top-tier technical, economic, and strategic insights.
