Meet the Visionaries Behind Quant Network

QNT Founding Team: Vision and Leadership Behind Quant Network

QNT, short for Quant, is a cryptocurrency developed by Quant Network, a project focused on solving issues related to blockchain interoperability. The founding team of Quant Network plays a pivotal role in its direction and development. Understanding their backgrounds and contributions is crucial for defining the project’s potential within the realm of blockchain technology.

Gilbert Verdian – Founder and CEO

Gilbert Verdian is the primary driving force behind Quant Network, holding the position of Founder and CEO. With over two decades of experience in technology, cybersecurity, and finance, Verdian brings an extensive track record in managing security and operational responsibilities in organizations such as BP, HSBC, and Vocalink, part of Mastercard. He also has a background working with governments, playing a key role in health systems and blockchain security standards.

Verdian's interest in blockchain technology can be traced back to his time working in the healthcare sector. He identified a gap in interoperability between systems, inspiring the development of Quant Network. His leadership is defined by his work in setting international cybersecurity standards for blockchain through organizations such as the ISO (International Organization for Standardization). Verdian continues to steer the project with a focus on expanding real-world blockchain use cases and improving cross-chain communication.

Paolo Tasca – Chief Strategy Officer

Another critical member of the Quant Network team is Paolo Tasca, who serves as the Chief Strategy Officer. Tasca is renowned for his experience as a digital economist and researcher specializing in distributed ledger technologies (DLT). He has consulted for major institutions like the United Nations and various central banks, offering a wealth of knowledge in blockchain economics.

Prior to joining Quant Network, Tasca led the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies at University College London, one of the world's leading blockchain think tanks. At Quant, his role involves guiding strategic decisions, particularly matters related to business development and economic frameworks in emerging blockchain applications.

Colin Paterson – Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Quant, Colin Paterson holds responsibility for the technological backbone of the project. With over 20 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, Paterson worked in senior roles securing infrastructure for financial institutions before becoming part of the founding team at Quant Network. His contributions allow Quant’s Overledger technology—the blockchain operating system they’ve developed—to remain a secure, adaptable, and scalable platform for different industries.

Paterson’s work is especially vital as Quant seeks to provide solutions that facilitate seamless communication across different blockchains, increasing the relevance of its Overledger technology within the wider global tech ecosystem.
