Gilbert Verdian, CEO
Gilbert Verdian, the mastermind behind the Quant project, has an extensive background spanning over two decades in both technology and cybersecurity. Before founding Quant Network in 2017, Verdian held several key positions in large organizations, including the UK government, BP Oil, HSBC, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where his focus was centered mainly on security and technology strategies. His involvement with standards and protocols, particularly in the cybersecurity field, laid the foundation for Quant's mission to create a more interoperable world.
Verdian is also recognized for his significant contributions to initiating the ISO/TC 307 standard. This global initiative focuses on standardizing blockchain technologies across various industries, signifying Quant's early recognition of the challenges surrounding blockchain interoperability. His understanding of existing technological bottlenecks, coupled with a vision of a more interconnected ecosystem, has driven Quant’s direction since its inception.
Paolo Tasca, Chief Strategist
Dr. Paolo Tasca, Quant's Chief Strategist, brings an academic and professional background in financial technology. He is notably an economist specializing in distributed ledger technology (DLT), with experience as a former adviser on blockchain technologies to organizations such as the European Parliament and the United Nations. In addition to his role at Quant, Tasca also serves as the Director at the Centre for Blockchain Technologies at University College London (UCL).
His research-driven approach and deep understanding of decentralized technologies help shape Quant's strategy. Tasca’s involvement ensures the project is well-respected across academic and technological circles, further enhancing its credibility.
Colin Paterson, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Colin Paterson, Quant’s Chief Technology Officer, has extensive experience in innovation, cybersecurity, and distributed systems. Having spent years working in mission-critical system designs and communications technologies, Paterson’s technical expertise is crucial for building and maintaining the Overledger network, Quant's interoperable blockchain operating system. His work focuses on ensuring that the technology underlying Quant is secure, scalable, and user-friendly, making interoperability a more seamless experience for stakeholders.
